W. E. Kirby

William Edward Kirby, 90, of Lynchburg, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. He was the loving husband of Mary Ann Kirby for forty-seven years.

Born April 8, 1925 in Kingston he was a son of the late Edward J. and Jane Ann Brady Kirby. He honorably served our nation in the United States Army during WWII, and retired from General Electric after a thirty-three year career in finance and management.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by three sons: William Edward Kirby, Jr. of Reston, Virginia, Edward Joseph Kirby of Highland, New York, and Peter Charles Kirby of San Diego, California; a grandson, Edward Michael Kirby of Albany, New York. He was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Maureen Alanna Kirby.

Celebration of William’s Life will be held Wednesday with visitation beginning at 9 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Ignatius, 339 North Maple Avenue in Kingston. Interment will be in Saint Ignatius Cemetery.
