Leo Geiser

October 9, 1915 — September 9, 2010

Leo C. Geiser, 94, of Wilkes-Barre died Thursday evening at his home.

Born October 9, 1915 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Anna Sauer Geiser.

Leo was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School and served as a Staff Sergeant with the Army in France during World War II.

Leo was employed for many years by Peoples Laundry, Dairylea Corporation and Gorman's Dairy before retiring.

A member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas, Leo served the church for many years as a Eucharistic Minister and faithful worker for the annual bazaar. He was one of the original volunteers for the Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen and devoted many hours and years to its cause.

Leo had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people smile.

The love of his life and wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy Keller Geiser died February 20, 2007. A sister, Mary Rudenauer and brothers, Joseph and Gerard Geiser also preceded him in death.

Leo was a kind and caring man who was loved deeply by his family and friends, especially his two best pals, his dogs Buddy and Abby.

Surviving are his daughters: Bethann Geiser and Diane and her husband Richard Bennett; grandchildren, Stacy and Scott Bennett; sister-in-law, Marion Keller; and nieces and nephews.

We are grateful to the staff of Maxim Healthcare Services who have cared for him over the years. And offer our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Hospice Community Care whose presence in Leo's life over the past several weeks has been invaluable to the entire family.
