Kathleen Heck Adams, 54, of Wilkes-Barre passed away following a brief illness on Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born June 15, 1958 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Ellen Collins Heck.
Raised in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, Katie was a 1976 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.
Katie was Clinical Services Manager for Eye Care Specialists where she worked for the past twenty-six years.
Katie was a fan of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of thirty-four years, Joseph Adams; sisters and brothers, Ellen Ann and her husband John Romanowski of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Robert and his wife Lisa Heck of Purcellville, Virginia, Barbara and her husband Ralph Evans of Ashley, Thomas Heck of Naples, Florida, Maureen and her husband James Beilman of Hawley, Michele and her husband Kevin Kane of Wilkes-Barre, Rhea and her husband James Lambert of Brandon, Florida, and Bill and his wife Barbara Heck of Lawrenceville, Georgia; sister- and brothers-in-law, Barbara and her husband John Yudin of Hudson, Pete and his wife Rhonda Adams, and Jim and his wife Christine Adams of Wilkes-Barre; and her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Katie's entire family extends thanks to her health care providers for their kindness and compassion; and all of the family and friends for their prayers and sympathies.
Celebration of Kathleen’s Life will be held Monday at 9 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Holy Saviour in East End. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Wyoming Valley Children's Association, 1133 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, PA 18704-4003.
