Joan B. Meehan

Joan B. Meehan, 83, of Edwardsville and formerly of Wilkes-Barre died Monday at Riverstreet Manor.

Born December 14, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Elliott Meehan.

Joan graduated from Saint Mary`s High School in Wilkes-Barre and was employed by Armour Meat Company of Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of parishes of Saint Hedwig in Edwardsville and Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wilkes-Barre.

Her sisters, Esther Elinsky, Margaret Rynkiewicz, Mary McDade, Elizabeth Shock, Catherine Yurgaitis, Gertrude Pish and Dolores O`Donnell, and brothers, Harry Moran, William, John, Thomas and Joseph Meehan, and her aunt, Margaret Elliott all preceded her in death.

Joan will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held Thursday with visitation beginning at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
