Arthur McCluskey

Arthur H. McCluskey, 82, of Wilkes-Barre died Saturday.
Born July 16, 1930 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts he was a son of the late Peter J. and Alma LaCroix McCluskey.
A 1950 graduate of Saint Bernard High School in Fitchburg, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College and Master of Arts from Montclair State University.
An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict he proudly served our country from 1954 to 1956.
Art was a teacher of languages at the high school and college levels. Throughout his thirty year career he taught French, Spanish and Latin to students in several states and in Canada.
A resident of Wilkes-Barre for nearly twenty years, Art was a member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Bishop William J. Hafey Assembly Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus Council 302, American Legion Post 555 and VFW Post 283.
His wife of thirty-seven years, Annabel Kerchner McCluskey died September 22, 2004.
He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Patricia Lahti of Palm Coast, Florida and Jeanette Keisling of Bradenton, Florida; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of Arthur’s Life will be held Wednesday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Venango County.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM.
