Emily J. Bly Stoodley

Emily J. Bly Stoodley, formerly of Sugar Notch died Saturday April 15, 2017.

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Malachi and Emily Smith Bly.

Emily attended St. Leo's High School and worked for J.B Carr Biscuit Company.

Emily loved playing Bingo and her greatest joy was staying at home to raise her children. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving mother.

Her husband, Ivor; daughter, Mary Ann; son, Gary; grandson, Jeff; brothers, Eugene, Malachi, Michael and Joseph; sisters, Mary, Julie and Nellie preceded her in death.

Emily will be greatly missed by her children, Ivor, Thomas, Gene, Frank, Carl, Cyril, Emily and Florence; sisters; Catherine Rable, Langhorne, Anna Kaminski, Blytheburn, Margaret Kopiak, Plains; brother William Bly, Ashley; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Celebration of Emily’s Life will begin Monday with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Tuesday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Leo the Great. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
